Spanish artist-designer Jaime Hayon has proposed a series of installations within the three interior courtyards of the new Hospital buildings. Based on anthropomorphic forms he has explored in previous ceramic and glass products, these spherical men trumpet and call to each other from tall ladders across the planting.

Hayon's respect for and knowledge of artisan skills and his inherent creativity has allowed him to push the boundaries of many mediums and functions, resulting in design collections for a diverse range of clients. He has brought his concern for the conservation of craft skills to his commissions from high end traditional production companies concerned with the evolution of their work. He has created furniture ranges, lighting fixtures, accessories and textiles and these collections have put him at the forefront of a new wave of artist-designers that blur the lines between art, decoration and design.
